Door Sentinel

Door open/close detection with event logging

Watch the circuit build itself: components drop in, wires connect, and the output comes alive.

Components

Everything you need for this project.

1x Tactile push button (as door sensor)

10KΩ

1x 10KΩ resistor

1x Red LED

1x Active buzzer

220Ω

1x 220Ω resistor

5x jumper wires

How It Works

Digital input with pull-up resistors, interrupt-driven programming, event logging, and debouncing.

InputButton (door sensor)
ProcessingESP32-S3 detects open/close, logs event with timestamp
OutputLED + buzzer + event log

What You Build

Button simulates a door reed switch on D1, LED on D2, buzzer on D3. Each "door open" event is logged with timestamp.

African Context

Door and entry monitoring is used in warehouses, pharmacies, and school supply rooms. Event logging teaches the foundation of security audit trails.

What You'll See

Pressing the button simulates door opening: LED lights, buzzer sounds, event logged on display with timestamp.
